Luminous Lavender is a calming oil-based cleansing balm made using the finest plant oils, butters, botanicals and minerals including macadamia oil, mango butter and blue spirulina. It is designed to easily remove makeup, sunscreen, pollution, and the impurities of the day in a matter of moments.
It gently cleanses your face, whilst also hydrating and moisturising your skin, leaving it feeling deeply cleansed, soothed, and hydrated with a radiant and refreshed glow.

Oil cleansing is a process which both cleanses and moisturises your skin. In simple terms, oil dissolves oil. Older hardened fatty-acid lipids (oils) in the skin are dissolved, and the excess oil is then removed along with dirt, impurities, dead skin, make-up and sunscreen to leave your skin soft and smooth. This amazing technique has been used in virtually all civilisations including the Romans, Egyptians and ancient Greeks who all knew of the incredible benefits.
This is a much gentler process for your skin than the majority of laboratory-made cleansers, most of which contain harsh surfactants, synthetic preservatives or mineral oil (petrochemicals). Many of these ingredients can deliver superficial results but over time they can affect your skin by stripping away the natural fatty acid lipids in your face which form part of your skin's protective barrier, and leave it looking, and feeling, dry and irritated.
Our skin is not designed to be exposed to these heavily processed elements day after day. In the same way that we are all more aware that eating highly processed foods is not good for our health and wellbeing, there is growing understanding that the same principle applies to what we put on our skin.
If you have a persistent and longstanding skin issue, a very important element to consider is your diet. We found with our daughter Coraline that what you eat is so important and that by eliminating, or reducing, dairy and gluten intake for example, chronic skin conditions can often reduce or disappear very quickly.

Lavender Essential Oil:
We are immensely proud and happy to distil our own lavender essential oil. Its anti-inflammatory properties can help soothe and calm dry and itchy skin by helping to reduce inflammation and redness, and to balance and repair your skin’s moisture, as such, it is a highly beneficial oil for mature complexions. Low levels of squalene can also help regenerate new skin cells.

Macadamia Nut Oil:
High in palmitoleic acid which is naturally produced by our skin. This oil decreases as we age, so by adding it directly to your skin you can protect it, and help to prevent premature ageing and Unrefined Mango Butter:
Mango butter is packed full of rejuvenating qualities, including a natural and stable form of vitamin C which brightens the skin, as well as saturated and unsaturated fatty acids which moisturise, repair, and revitalise all three skin layers.
Blue Spirulina:
Spirulina is a powerful algae extract which boosts the overall health and radiant appearance of your skin, leaving it smooth, bright, and healthy. It helps to reduce inflammation, tone the skin, and encourages cell turnover to leave it purified, soft and toned with less visible imperfections.

- All our oils and butters are cold pressed and unrefined.
Apply to face and neck using dry fingertips and massage into your skin using circular motions to ensure oils can break down and remove the impurities from your day. Soak a face cloth in warm water and gently wipe off 2-3 times in circular motions to remove the excess balm. Please take extra care around the eye area to avoid any irritation.
For best results we recommend using in the evening as part of a routine alongside our Botanical Balance calming tonic, and either our SOS Recovery or You Must Be Sisters facial oils. For particularly dry skin, it can be used in both the morning and evening.
It can be used on its own or as the first part of a 'double cleanse' using one of our moisturising soap bars, to really ensure that your pores are perfectly clear on those days that you are wearing make-up and sunscreen.
Product Care:
This is a delicate balance of oils and butters, and it does not contain any chemical preservatives or stabilisers, so it is important that water is not introduced into the product, as this can cause bacteria to grow. Please apply using dry fingertips and close the lid in between use.
Store in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme heat to prevent it from melting and to preserve its beneficial properties. If the balm does melt, stir well and refrigerate to re-set. Can also be stored in the fridge on very hot days to prevent melting.
Allergy Advice:
This product contains linalol, which is a natural compound present in the lavender essential oil, so if you are allergic to this compound, we advise you not to use this product. As a precaution, given the essential oil in this product, we do not recommend it for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
All our products are 100% natural but occasionally people may have unknown allergies or sensitivities to oils, waxes, botanicals or essential oils. Do not use if you are sensitive or allergic to any of the ingredients in this product. We recommend you patch-test on a small area of your body before first use (leave on for 24 hours).

We have a 28 day policy on our returns once we have dispatched our soaps. We will accept returns on any unused products, providing they are in their original condition and packaging of sale during this period. You will be responsible for paying for any costs to return the goods to us in their original condition.
