Our Story

Where It Began

We founded Coraline Skincare in February 2020. We are Kevin and Liz Troy, and our small business was first created as a gift to our daughter Coraline, who remains the inspiration for all our products. Kevin spent 15 years as a chef learning what’s best to put in the body and now has delved deeply into what is best to put on it; he has a passion for ingredients and process, and a belief that you get out what you put in, and on your body.

Happy Skin

When Coraline was born we discovered that she had Down's syndrome and two holes in her heart. Her sensitive skin reacted badly to many products which claimed to be 'natural'. We tried everything out there and we couldn’t find what we were looking for, so we decided to create our own range of organic, natural and vegan skincare to help Coraline to have happy skin.

Coraline has taught us the meaning of pure and unfiltered love, and we apply this same love to all our products. Every single element is considered in minute detail to maximise and enhance the moisturising benefits to help you have happy skin.

Our Values

Our Philosophy

Our philosophy is grounded in ingredient-led simplicity, with the core belief that what you put on your body is just as important as what you put into your body. When it comes to your skincare, the purity of ingredients is key. Kevin's fifteen years as a chef in luxury hotels and restaurants shapes this philosophy in every step of our approach. We only add an ingredient if it will benefit your skin.

As we expand our range, we thoughtfully create products for every family member's needs; from soap bars to skin balms. Whilst we specialise in skincare for sensitive and troubled skin, all of our products are kind and beneficial for all skin types and ages from three months old.

Our Ingredients

Pure love

Our story is beautifully told in our logo. Coraline means ‘heart’.

The essence of Coraline’s name, the two holes in her heart when she born, and the three upward arrows which represent the three copies of the 21st chromosome present in every person with Down’s syndrome come together in a really meaningful way for us.

Liz writes an award-winning blog Coraline and Us www.coralineandus.com about our life, lessons and learnings with Coraline.

We hope you love our products as much as we do and that you share them with your loved ones.

Small Steps

Small Steps make a huge difference.

We love what we do and aim to make a positive impact in other people's lives. We are proud to donate 50p from every product we sell to Small Steps. They provide early intervention for children who need a helping hand, and it is a cause very close to our hearts. Small Steps helped our family by providing conductive education for our daughter Coraline, and they do so for any child with additional physical needs without any charge, which makes a world of difference to the children and their families.

Coraline is, and has always been, the inspiration behind our brand and products, so we are thrilled to give something back.
