"Glow to bed": the transformative three-step evening routine
In this week's video blog Coraline Skincare co-founder, Liz, chats through her simple evening skincare routine for glowing, healthy skin.
Three natural, organic products to remove make-up, cleanse, hydrate and moisturise.
If you are looking to simplify your skincare routine and focus on a few key steps that are concentrated, deeply nourishing and 100% organic here is Liz's step-by-step routine, which you can also buy as a complete set here to try for yourself:
"Since spending time with Kevin I have become fascinated by the power of natural ingredients. So I am going to share a little in this blog on what I have found out about the ingredients he has carefully selected for each product I use in the routine."
Step 1: Luminous Lavender Pure Bliss Oil Cleansing Balm
"I start with the Luminous Lavender Pure Bliss Oil Cleansing Balm. The key ingredient here is blue spirulina, a powerful algae extract which is really moisturising for the skin so, as you cleanse, you are putting moisture back into your skin, not stripping it. My skin feels smooth and soft after using it and it's a natural antimicrobial.
The blue spirulina tones my skin, and encourages cell turnover. It contains eight essential amino acids and is high in protein, which is necessary for cell repair and growth. It also contains a rare fatty acid known as gamma linolenic acid (GLA). Fatty acids, especially GLA, strengthen the skin's protective barriers which means the skin retains more moisture (which keeps fine lines away) and they also decrease skin inflammation.
My make-up comes off quickly and easily. I just put a tiny amount on the eye area and my eye make-up comes off straight away."
Step 2: Botanical Balance Calming Facial Tonic
"Next I follow with a spritz or two of Botanical Balance Calming Facial Tonic which has organic Damask rose and Lavender flower waters in it, as well as Aloe vera and Spearmint to cool and calm the skin - it's super hydrating. It lessens the impact of overnight moisture loss. It's also great to apply the facial oil, which comes next in the routine, to damp skin."
Step 3: You Must Be Sisters Facial Oil
"I finish with a few drops of You Must be Sisters Facial Oil, which I massage into my skin to boost circulation.
One of the key oils is sea buckthorn oil, which contains over 100 nutrients and has ten times the vitamin C content of an orange. Vitamin C is vital for our skin's own collagen production, which is what gives our skin elasticity and bounce. Vitamin C is an antioxidant and aids in cell regeneration boosting radiance and reducing signs of ageing.
Sea buckthorn oil also provides all four omega fatty acids - 3, 6, 7 and 9 which help the skin to retain moisture (fatty acids keep cell walls strong so they don’t lose water). And one more amazing sea buckthorn oil fact; it's a humectant which means it preserves moisture and prevents moisture loss, hence the oil is very hydrating. The oil's velvety texture and golden colour leave my skin glowing."
