Our mission and purpose is for you to feel happy and confident in your own skin.
If you or your family have stubborn and persistent dry, itchy, or sensitive skin on your body, hands or feet then Saving Grace Body Balm will help you and them to feel happy and comforted whenever there is a flare up or painful skin issue.
It is a truly multi-purpose body balm you can use at any time of day to give your skin a much-needed hydration and moisture boost. It gets to work fast to repair and rescue your skin, and can be used to remedy sensitive and dry patches on any area of your body. It is extremely effective on blemishes, scars and burns which are quickly soothed. Irritated knuckles, fingers and heels can be relieved quickly.
Unlike many mass-produced moisturisers and medicated creams, it is also completely free from any harsh chemical preservatives, steroids, mineral oil (petrochemicals) or other artificial chemical elements. Many of these ingredients can deliver superficial results but over time they can affect your skin by stripping away the natural fatty acid lipids in your face which form part of your skin's protective barrier and leave it looking and feeling dry and irritated. Often the problem gets worse.
Our skin is not designed to be exposed to these heavily processed elements in every product that we use, day after day. In the same way that we are all more aware that eating highly processed foods is not good for our health and wellbeing, there is growing understanding that the same principle applies to what we put on our skin.
One other very important element to consider is your diet. We found with our daughter Coraline that what you eat is so important and by eliminating or reducing dairy and gluten intake for example, chronic skin conditions can often reduce or disappear very quickly.

Sesame Seed Oil:
Naturally antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and moisturising, it contains a potent mix of antioxidants, vitamins, and other beneficial compounds. It is easily absorbed by the skin and helps to carry healing properties to all three layers of our skin. Rich in linoleic and oleic acids which are highly beneficial for anyone with dry inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and rosacea. It also contains high levels of zinc which help to support the production of collagen. It is gently deodorised in a natural way to ensure the smell is neutral, but the benefits are fully retained.
Apricot Kernel Oil:
An excellent soothing and skin-softening oil, which is very light and easily absorbed into the skin. Rich in vitamins A and E, it is especially helpful for mature complexions. It calms and protects against dry, inflamed, and irritated skin, and is helpful for anyone with itchy skin.
Hemp Seed Oil:
Particularly supportive in hydrating and repairing dry and damaged skin, it contains a wide and varied range of essential fatty acids and healing compounds. High in linoleic acid, which is an essential building block to produce ceramides, one of the skin's main moisturising components. Ceramides effectively hold our skin together to form a protective lipid layer. Young skin produces lots of ceramides, but as we age the quality and quantity of ceramides reduces. This can lead to a damaged skin barrier, causing rough dry skin, wrinkles, redness, irritation, and dehydration.
Shea Butter (Unrefined):
Helps create a breathable lipid barrier for your skin, which soothe, repair, and protect the skin. Naturally contains vitamins A and E. Vitamin A is important for improving a number of skin conditions, including reducing the incidence of blemishes, wrinkles, dry itchy skin, eczema and dermatitis. Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that protects your skin.

Product Care:
This is a delicate balance of oils and butters, and it does not contain any chemical preservatives or stabilisers, so it is important that water is not introduced into the product, as this can cause bacteria to grow. Please apply using dry fingertips, or a dry spoon to transfer product into your hands and close the lid in between use.
Store in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme heat to prevent it melting, and to preserve its beneficial properties. If the balm does melt, stir well, and refrigerate to re-set. Can also be stored in the fridge on very hot days.
Allergy Advice:
All our products are 100% natural but occasionally people may have unknown allergies or sensitivities to oils, waxes, or botanicals. The long-term goal is to save the world from plastic waste. Did you know that currently only nine percent of the plastic produced globally is recycled? Although highly important, enhancing the recycling of conventional plastic isn’t enough to solve the global plastic crisis.
We are working with Sulapac who have developed our packaging. It is intended to replace conventional plastic with a material that behaves like plastic, but which biodegrades within a similar time frame to tree leaves.
- Plant-based packaging - Industrially Compostable and Biodegradable Pot. 100% Bio Based and 100% Ocean safe.
- Microplastic-free and fully biodegradable material innovation based on renewable ingredients.
- Fully compostable using local council collection.
- If your local council doesn't have composting facilities, then the pot can be placed in landfill where it will fully biodegrade leaving zero trace or impact on our planet.
- If it accidentally ends up in nature, it doesn’t harm the ecosystem in any way.
- The main components of the pots are wood and plant-based binders which are sustainably sourced, and which biodegrade quickly and fully into CO2, water and biomass leaving no microplastics behind.
- The wood comes from FSC certified industry side streams (waste products). Made of completely non-toxic raw materials, which are safe for you and the environment.
- All boxes and labels are printed using recycled and recyclable paper and card, and eco toners which are not harmful to the planet.
