Top ten ingredients in our products which are great for menopausal skin
How do customers describe their perimenopausal/menopausal/postmenopausal skin to us?
Customers often mention one or more of the following to us:
- Dry and irritated skin
- Occasional hormonal breakouts (due to fluctuating hormone levels)
- Skin feeling less firm (due to lower levels of collagen and elastin in the skin)
- Intolerance to foods such as gluten or dairy which was never the case before (resulting in persistently red/itchy skin) In our experience no product can alleviate this, only the removal of the food from diet
- Intolerance to skincare products which was never the case before (due to a loss of moisture in the skin and skin barrier, so the skin is more sensitive and needs products which will hydrate the skin barrier).
Top ten ingredients in our products which will help
Essential oil free products -
You Must Be Sisters Facial Oil - Sea Buckthorn Fruit Oil - Contains over 100 nutrients, and the levels of Vitamin C are at least 10 times higher than that of an orange. This makes it a highly effective oil to help support the production of collagen to reduce water loss and wrinkles. Provitamin A's beta carotene content naturally helps to heal dry skin and inflammation.
SOS Recovery Facial Oil – Amaranth Seed Oil - Quite simply an oil that our skin cannot do without as we age. It has around 4-5% squalene content, a hugely important lipid which is naturally produced by our skin to lock moisture in, keep our skin soft and to prevent dry skin and fine lines. It starts to slow down its production in our mid to late 20s, so it is key to replace what is lost. Squalene is able to stimulate and support collagen production and helps to maintain firmer skin. Not to be confused with squalane which is a processed form of natural squalene.
Keep the Peace Facial Oil - Camellia seed oil - High in tannins that help control excess oils in the skin, and is highly effective at taming breakouts.
Botanical Balance - Damask Rose Flower Water - The queen of all flower waters, it has a truly beautiful scent and contains a high percentage of phenolic compounds which have been proven to possess anti-inflammatory properties. It has cooling, calming, refreshing and skin-toning benefits. Rose water can also be beneficial for soothing and helping to refresh and relax dry skin, eczema, rosacea, and countless other sensitive skin issues.
Nettle Settle Soap – Nettle Leaf Is a wonderful remedy for calming itchy skin due to its rich histamine, chlorophyll, oxyacetylene and iron levels. Impressive astringent properties also help to balance oily and acne prone skin and to shrink and tighten the top layer of our skin to aid in reducing blemishes.
Calming Chamomile Soap - Blue Chamomile - High levels of potent antioxidants help the skin to regenerate, and slow down ageing effects in the skin. Blemishes and redness can be reduced almost immediately, and it can help to relieve acne and irritation thanks to its anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial compounds alpha bisabolol, chamazulene, and various polyphenols and flavonoids. It is also highly effective on dry and itchy skin.
Saving Grace Body Balm - Hemp seed oil - High in linoleic acid, an essential building block for the skin to produce ceramides, one of the skin's main moisturising components.
Soothe and Smooth Body Oil - Sesame seed oil - contains high levels of zinc which helps to support the production of collagen.
