9 natural ingredients to effectively treat acne
In response to customer demand we introduced Keep the Peace facial oil serum in August 2023. Kevin spent almost a year developing just the formulation for breakout prone skin.
In September 2023 we launched our Peace Offering* 3 Step Breakout and Blemish Clearing Facial Routine set (comprising Minty Fresh soap, Botanical Balance Calming Facial Tonic and Keep the Peace Balancing and Clearing Facial Oil)
Here is a recent review for Peace offering, our 3 step natural skincare routine set for acne-prone skin:
“My son has been using Coraline's products now for 4 months due to an ongoing teenage spot problem. After a consultation with Sadie the following products were suggested to ease the inflammation and pustules which were appearing on a daily basis. He has been using minty fresh/charcoal soap, Botanical Balance calming facial tonic and keep the peace facial oil. Within a week of using the difference in his skin was astounding. 3 months on and his skin looks clear and healthy. Remarkable products. Could not recommend highly enough. Wonderful products. Thanks to Kevin and Liz for creating Coraline. Big thanks to Sadie for such wonderful advice.” Paula M
Tailored skincare
When choosing the certified-organic or wild-harvested ingredients for our skincare products we first look to their naturally occurring, skin-boosting benefits. This helps us to tailor our formulas to target specific skincare concerns effectively.
Waterless formulas
As our skincare is waterless, it means each product only contains highly concentrated, intensely effective organic ingredients to nurture skin back to health. With no fillers, chemicals or preservatives that may further exacerbate skin problems.
Soothing, not stripping
When it comes to acne-prone skin we want our products to help detox pores, soothe inflammation and balance natural oils without stripping or drying out the skin, which is common with many 'acne skincare' products. Blemishes and breakouts can occur at any age, from puberty right up to menopause caused by hormonal imbalances, gut health, stress or a weakened skin microbiome.

If you'd like to learn more about the ingredient benefits in our natural skincare for acne-prone skin, here are 9 powerhouse organic oils, botanicals and minerals included in our range. 9 naturally effective ingredients for acne-prone skin
Black Cumin Seed Oil (found in Keep the Peace facial oil serum)
Black Cumin Seed Oil is antimicrobial, antiviral and antifungal. It is anti-inflammatory and helps calm and balance oily and acne/breakout-prone skin. It can also help speed the healing of post-blemish scars.
Bentonite Clay (found in Minty Fresh Soap Bar)
Bentonite Clay is mineral-rich and made of weathered volcanic ash. It contains calcium, magnesium and iron, and is a powerful aid for detoxifying, toning and balancing oily and acne prone skin. It quickly and easily absorbs excess oil, which has a temporary tightening effect on the skin to minimise the incidence of prominent pores. It also has impressive anti-inflammatory properties which can be highly beneficial for oily skin, and those suffering from acne.
Camellia Seed Oil (found in Keep the Peace facial oil serum)
Also known as White Tea Oil, Camellia Seed Oil delivers vitamin A, B, C and E to the skin along with monounsaturated oleic acid. The oil is high in tannins that help control excess oils in the skin. The tannins give the oil a dry feel and help it to absorb quickly without it feeling greasy. It is also non-comedogenic (doesn't clog pores) which makes it a superb oil for oily and breakout-prone skin. Brilliant for treating teenage and perimenopausal blemishes alike.
Damask Rose Water (found in Botanical Balance calming facial tonic)
The queen of all flower waters, it has a truly beautiful scent. It is high in tannins which naturally help to calm excess oil production and also contains a high percentage of phenolic compounds which have been proven to possess anti-inflammatory properties. It has cooling, calming, refreshing and skin-toning benefits. Rose water can also be beneficial for soothing and helping to refresh acne-prone skin.
Cinnamon Bark Powder (found in Cinnamon Smooth soap bar)
Cinnamon Bark Powder contains anti-microbial, antiseptic, anti-fungal and antioxidant properties. All of these can be highly effective in treating acne and blemish-prone skin. Cinnamon also helps in controlling oil production on the face, which can prevent breakouts to a great extent. It naturally exfoliates the skin, removing dead skin cells to help dry out acne.
Golden Jojoba Seed Oil (found in Keep the Peace facial oil serum)
Golden Jojoba Seed Oil provides a light film that maintains moisture yet allows the skin to breathe, and it shares many of the same properties as sebum, a lipid in our skin, so it is highly bio-compatible and non-comedogenic (doesn't clog pores).
Lemon Essential Oil (found in Minty Fresh Soap Bar)
Lemon Essential Oil has beneficial effects on breakout-prone skin as it helps to cleanse, detox and balance sebum levels in the epidermis.
Peppermint Essential Oil
(found in Minty Fresh Soap Bar)
Peppermint Essential Oil naturally cleanses the skin and has antiseptic and antibacterial properties. Contains menthol which naturally helps to soothe skin, it has a cooling effect and also contains antibacterial properties. It can work as a natural alternative for calming, balancing and clearing acne-prone skin.
Sesame Seed Oil (found in Keep the Peace facial oil serum)
Sesame Seed Oil is naturally antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and moisturising, it contains a potent mix of antioxidants, vitamins and healing fractions. It is easily absorbed by the skin, and helps to carry healing properties to all three layers of our epidermis.
It also contains high levels of zinc which are fantastic for anyone with oily and acne/breakout-prone skin, and which also help to support the production of collagen.
