Points to consider before booking your treatment:
This is not a deep tissue back massage, or a sports massage. It involves light touch, and heat from the Thai Stamp (pouch).
The heat from the pouch helps to relax muscles, improve circulation, and ease tension, while the herbal essences are absorbed through the skin, promoting detoxification and deep relaxation. This treatment is ideal for relieving muscular aches, reducing stress, and restoring balance to body and mind.
Ideally schedule a quiet day/evening after your treatment to allow everything to settle down.
Immediately after your treatment we recommend that you:
Steer clear of caffeine and alcohol: Alcohol dilates blood vessels and can lead to permanent redness. It also depletes vitamin A, an essential nutrient for skin health. This then dehydrates your skin, leaving it looking dull and dry. Opt for herbal teas or infused water instead!
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate: Drink at least 1.5 to 2 litres of water daily. Staying well hydrated helps flush out toxins and supports a radiant complexion.
Avoid direct sun exposure: Your skin could be more sensitive after your treatment, so stay out of the sun and always apply SPF, even on cloudy days. This helps prevent sun damage and keeps your skin youthful.
Avoid smoking: Smoking reduces oxygen and nutrient delivery to the skin, damages collagen and elastin, and speeds up the aging process. It’s one of the fastest ways to dull your natural glow.
Manage stress: Chronic stress creates free radicals, which contribute to early aging. It also restricts blood flow to the skin, leaving it tired, lifeless, and prone to breakouts. Practice calming techniques like deep breathing, yoga, or a walk in nature.
Eat for your skin: Focus on a diet rich in organic fruits and vegetables, healthy fats, and antioxidant-rich foods. Consider supplements that support healthy aging and reduce oxidative stress.
What to expect during your treatment:
A consultation with Amanda to determine the products she will use for your skin type
Removal of your t-shirt/top (and bra if applicable) as Amanda will be using oils on your neck, shoulders and back. You can get changed behind a screen and will then lie on the bed face down
Gentle background music, unless you prefer no music
Quiet during your treatment, unless you’d like to chat
A choice of organic essential oils will be offered to you to smell as part of the sensory experience
Eyes closed
Your skin will be cleansed and exfoliated before Amanda applies the warmed stamp pouch which is gently pressed and massaged along your back releasing tension, easing muscle stiffness and infusing the skin with calming oils and botanicals. The heat and healing herbs work in harmony to promote circulation, soothe your nervous system and leave you feeling deeply relaxed and rebalanced.
This will be followed by a back massage before you turn over under the blanket and Amanda will apply an organic face mask.
You can ask Amanda during your consultation for more information on any of this.

Plant-powered relaxation meets ancient healing Experience the ultimate in back care with this 60-minute luxury treatment that combines deep cleansing, gentle exfoliation, and the soothing warmth of traditional handmade Thai herbal stamps.
Your treatment begins with a purifying back cleanse and exfoliation to smooth and refresh the skin. Warm, herb-infused Thai stamps are then rhythmically pressed and rolled across the back. This time-honoured technique eases muscle tension, boosts circulation, and melts away built-up stress, allowing your body to fully unwind.
A rich and luxury facial mask is then applied to address your skin’s unique needs.
A deeply calming experience, which arises through stimulation of the vagus nerve during your Thai stamp massage treatment
When stimulated, the vagus nerve:
- Lowers heart rate and blood pressure
- Reduces stress hormone levels
- Promotes a sense of calm and wellbeing
This will help to move your body into a parasympathetic state, which:
- Reduces anxiety and muscle tension
- Enhances your mood
- Improves your digestion and sleep
- Supports your immune function
What is the Vagus Nerve?
The vagus nerve is the main nerve of the parasympathetic nervous system, which regulates "rest and digest" activities. It runs from the brainstem down to the abdomen, connecting with the heart, lungs, and digestive tract. It also interfaces with facial muscles and skin—especially around the ears, neck, jawline, and eyes.
How our Holistic Thai stamp massage Stimulates the Vagus Nerve:
Gentle Touch & Massage
Rhythmic massage around your back, neck and shoulders activates parasympathetic responses via the vagus nerve. Light stroking techniques trigger relaxation.Pressure Points & Reflexology
Targeting acupressure points and reflex zones linked to the vagus nerve sends calming signals to the brain.
Aromatherapy
Inhaling essential oils stimulates the olfactory nerve (closely tied to the limbic system), which also leads to relaxation.
Deep Breathing and Guided Relaxation
Taking a few deep breaths to begin your treatment activates the vagus nerve and helps calm your nervous system.
Warmth and Safe Human Touch
The feeling of nurturing touch and the warm towels triggers oxytocin release and parasympathetic activation, reinforcing the vagal effect.
Amanda will tailor the ingredients and body products she uses from our range to your skin type and needs to deliver flawless results.
These include:
Saving Grace Repair and Replenish Balm
Soothe and Smooth Nourishing Body Oil
Organic Gluten Free Fine Oats (contained in the Herbal stamp)
Oats contain skin soothing compounds to calm and heal irritated skin, and are particularly effective in helping to soothe eczema and psoriasis. They are considered an emollient, a substance that softens the skin. They contain a wide array of proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals and other nutrients shown to benefit the skin, and also boast anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that can benefit your skin.
Grapeseed Oil (contained in the Herbal stamp)
A lightweight oil from the seeds of grapes which easily absorbs into the skin, leaving the skin soft, supple, and moisturised. It has anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties, and also contains high levels of omega fatty acids and vitamin E. Grapeseed oil's superpower is its high polyphenol content including proanthocyanidins, which are especially powerful antioxidants. Studies found that the antioxidant power of grapeseed proanthocyanidins is 50 times greater than that of vitamin C and can help to reduce the signs of premature skin ageing such as wrinkles, fine lines and sun spots. It can also be very helpful in reducing redness and irritation in the skin.
Organic Essential Oils (contained in the Herbal stamp)
We will also offer you a range of different organic essential oils when you arrive and you can use your senses and intuition to guide you on which feel right to you at that moment, or we can choose for you if you prefer.
